I always love pieces that have dramatic lighting effects. This is one is no exception. You had trouble with two lighting sources, backlighting and down to the right. You handled them marvelously. Smoke really lights up when backlight as well as the halo around the head. Errors in lighting are that the sides of the fan blades are lit on the opposite side and a shadow would have been cast on breastbone. But as effects go, it adds nicely to the general overall appearance. I struggled also with two lighting sources. It's tough to combine the two reasonably. When the eye looks at this, it make sense overall and becomes pleasing. Now if the fan isn't a light source but is going to soon burst into flames, well it's all good then. It's the bonus of creating fantasy, anything goes. Jewelry looks fantastics as well as her hair changing from red to blue. Also I adore the fact that her lipstick matches. (All so important to a girl like me.) The smoke looks absolutely GREAT. I'm a painter, not a manip so I can only comment on composition.
- Lightning: clever playing between the night elements and the light of the spectre, giving the picture some mythic aura (which tells me we should be afraid, very afraid!);
- Colour Perception: perfect combination of hot and cold tones, which is extremely not an easy thing to do;
- Movement: strategic and subtle use of elements (e.g. hair, smoke) that provoke in the viewer the sensation that this character will just pop out of the screen any time.
All these facts translate a perfect domain of the technique in photo-manipulation and also, at the same time, cause a great impact in those who are appreciating it.
I have to finish by agreeing with the artist: `Elandria is gorgeous, and always a great choice in the stock world!
(Sorry for the english faults, and keep up the great work )
I love it you do greatly with the lighting and the shadow! I hope you don't mind that I have this one as my desktop wallpaper could resist her eyes jejeje
